Message	step 1 - take picture - in COLOR step 2 - take picture into PS step 3 - draw selective polyline around subject that you want in color step 4 - right click and hit "layer via copy" -- this will create a new layer step 5 -go to the background layer highlight it step 6 - while the background layer is highlighted - go to image - edit - desaturate this will leave the background in B/W and the car/girl/toy/etc in color There are much better ways of doing this and many nuances to make it look "better" but this is the crash course and I'm going off memory , I'm not a fan of the technique ...
